Frequently Asked Questions

They are all really good, you can't pick the wrong one. All coffees can be brewed any way you like, from French press to pour over to espresso.

The Maple Creek Coffee House Blends are balanced and complex, and I think they make the best all-round, every day cups.

If you are looking for something special, or a unique treat, try any of the Maple Creek Coffee Single Origins, or even the Limited Editions.

For those that prefer classic, dark coffee, I recommend picking one with notes of chocolate and caramels. If you prefer a lighter, mellow cup, I suggest coffee with descriptions like sweet, light, floral. If you really enjoy lots of acidity, the coffees with citrus notes.

Another suggestion is to pick a coffee from your favourite coffee-producing country or region and go from there! It's a great way to experience different kinds of coffee.

Please check the coffee listing page for the price per 200g (half pound) bag. If you would like a different size of bag please contact me for pricing.

All of the coffee is specialty grade, which is of much better quality. Specialty coffee is specially grown and processed, it can be traced back to the place it was grown, and has far less physical defects and tastes a lot better.

The Limited Edition coffee is more expensive because it is of even higher grade or is in very limited supply.

I may have other coffees that are not listed on the website. I often offer discounts and special pricing that may be different than on the website.

Maple Creek Coffee comes in whole beans, because it stays fresher and more flavourful for a longer time.

Yes, absolutely.

You will need about 15g of ground coffee per 250ml cup of brewed coffee. A 200g bag of coffee gives you about 13 cups of coffee.

After you open a bag of coffee, it loses most of its flavour within a few days. I like the 200g size because it can be used up before it loses too much flavour.

100g, 400g and 600g bags are also available.

The roast level on Maple Creek Coffee gives you a general idea of how the coffee tastes. A dark roast has a stronger taste and more body than a light roast. Physically, you can only really tell them apart by comparing them side by side.

Yes, absolutely! If you like a coffee but think it would be roasted to a different level please let me know and I will make a batch to your taste.

No. The tasting notes on the bag are intended to give you an impression of how the coffee tastes. It also helps to describe the differences between the coffees. A coffee with notes of chocolate tastes quite different from a coffee with notes of citrus.

No. I do not add any flavours to the coffee.  If you like to add flavours to your coffee, I recommend adding flavoured syrup to your drink after it is brewed so you can adjust it to taste.
